Abstract
The following article proposes the critical revision of the stone frieze of the Northern Forum of the Roman colony of Thugga, present-day Dougga (Tunisia), ordered erected by the curator reipublicae, the eques Felix Iulianus and the ordo of Thugga in honour of Emperor Gallienus (253-268) and his wife Salonina. We will analyse the morphological, palaeographic and prosopographic particularities of the piece, and then focus our attention on the promotion of Thugga to the status of Roman colony, carried out in 261 and held again in 265, the year of completion of the Northern Forum of the city.
