Résumé

This dissertation studies modern antisemitism within the United States from the perspective of the Anti-Defamation League, during the period 1945-2001. It focuses on the public discourse of the American organization, investigating how antisemitism is constructed through the roles of historical actors and analyzing how the ADL understands, approaches, defines and identifies antisemitism. It contemplates the type of narratives developed by the agency and how they fit into its discourse over time. This is an innovative perspective which provides a highly comprehensive overview of the issue and an in-depth understanding of the key actors and factors involved, the intertwined narratives, and their socio-political impact.
