Abstract

Prostate cancer is a very common disease and it is the third leading cause of cancer death in Spain. Since the introduction of PSA in early 1990’s as a screening tool, age at diagnosis and mortality have decreased, as a result of early detection and improvements in treatment. Localized prostate cancer can be treated with external radiotherapy or radical surgery. However, positive surgical margins after surgery have been related with biochemical recurrence, a decreased in overall survival and associate a high cost for healthcare systems...
