Abstract

The main goal of this thesis is to analyze the contributions of the Laboratory of Computer Science and Musical Electronics (LIEM). I study the period in which it was linked to the Center for the Diffusion of Contemporary Music (CDMC). This organization was dependent on the National Institute of Performing Arts and Music (INAEM) -Ministry of Culture. The period was 1989-2010. This studio of electroacoustic music was the only one with entirely public support.One of the main objectives of the research has been bringing to light the important cultural role that the LIEM-CDMC played in Spanish musical modernity through its musical contributions from both male and female composers, a very relevant and qualitatively significant aspect of the LIEM.The work is approached from a socio-political perspective, from cultural studies, from feminist theory and from an autoethnographic vision.
