Abstract

This dissertation aims to offer a synoptic view of the work and thought of the German-American philosopher and sociologist Eugen Rosenstock-Huessy (1888-1973). Given the absence of a full reception of them in the Spanish-speaking academic field, the present research will not presuppose any previous knowledge, but will carefully explain each aspect and each problem that may arise, so that an adequate and all-encompassing image of all the intellectual facets to which the studied author devoted himself can be reconstructed from the totality of the chapters. Thus, it can be said that in general the purpose of the research is eminently doxographic, since it will deal with the exhaustive analysis of a specific bibliographic corpus, namely, the set of published works (and some unpublished) of the studied author. However, the vocation of our work is not solely and exclusively doxographic. The decision to investigate and reconstruct the work of an author so neglected by philosophical and sociological criticism does not answer to a purpose of mere erudition, or of sterile archaeology.
