Abstract

The hypothesis raised in this work is that happiness, studied in the context of Friedrich Nietzsche's philosophy, is beyond good and evil. These terms, therefore, have to be understood as the German philosopher does in his work The Antichrist, that is to say, outside of moral connotations, so being happy will depend on the strength of the will to power and the autonomy of each individual, that means, the ability to face difficulties and overcome the resistance that, without any doubt, life will throw us onto the battlefield.The feeling that follows this is what Nietzsche calls 'happiness'. To embody this proposal of happiness, I have decided to shape it through the character of Hannibal Lecter, protagonist of the TV show Hannibal.This union tells us about the relevance of the use of cinematographic narratives, specifically, television series for the study and realization of the philosophical exercise. This fictional character, commonly known as Hannibal the cannibal, gives us the necessary elements to make a comparison with the Übermensch. It embodies the vast majority of the requirements, characteristics and attributes that Nietzsche attributes to the superman, as well as a completely deconstructed moral guide with respect to traditional Christian morality. This is the reason why in these pages it is going to be presented that it is not possible to approach Nietzschean philosophy without having Hannibal in mind, in the same way that it is not possible to approach this character without being aware of the Nietzschean thought. There are two elements, two beings, that necessarily feed each other...
