Abstract

At the University of Information Sciences applies an integration model training - production - research, based on a process of learning-centered education with a progressive incorporation into blended learning in virtual learning environments. The model set both courses depending on the main activity: junior and professional course. The basic cycle is to ensure the basic training of high level professional theoretical and practical, increasing independence to self-education and training in the use of Information Technology and Communications (ICT) in the training process. The aim is to ensure professional cycle training of graduates from playing active roles in the industry for the software, making the development of integration-production training from the competency assessment and evaluation from a specific typology of production and complete the education. Consequently they have designed and implemented learning environments, which articulate with the characteristics of this teaching-learning process effectively, which favors the spread of different types of media Computer Aided Instruction. Based on the logical combinatorial approach can be applied to solve most of the areas of knowledge, character recognition, medical diagnostics, remote sensing of the earth, identification of human faces and fingerprints, forecast breaks in equipment and machinery, analysis of biomedical signals and images, automatic inspection, blood cell counts, analysis of well logs, archeology, mineral deposit prediction, seismic activity analysis, document classification, among others, that are present in the industry software Development Centres and Research which passes the student's professional cycling. We developed a learning environment to facilitate the teaching and learning of the subject, using concept maps as a powerful tool regarding the cognitive skills that enable the organization, association, validation, interaction, discrimination, description and exemplification of contents with a high power of visualization and intelligent tutoring systems, such as programs that carry certain content knowledge through an individualized interactive process.
