Abstract

This paper addresses the use of chine-collé -also called fondino, pa- pier collé, chine appliqué or Japanese paper -in contemporary print- making and its current use as an expressive resource. This prin ng technique di ers from other procedures of adhesion of papers such as collage and therefore it deserves to be the focus of a speci c study in a cri cal context of graphic art. We consider it relevant and novel to carry out a study that allows us to understand, not only which aspects are relevant in an intaglio chine-collé produced print, but, fundamentally, its contribu on to contemporary graphic art.
