Abstract

The automotive industry is experiencing an in-depth transformation related to the transition towards electric, connected, autonomous and shared vehicles. This transition process reveals impacts on the architecture of the sector’s global production chains, specifically, on product design, on the organization of production and logistics processes, and on the actors that participate in the chains. The objective of this paper is to offer some research notes about the main trends observed in this transformation process and to propose some key analysis dimensions to analyze the position of the Spanish automotive industry in this context of transition.
