Abstract

The fundamental aim of the research is to redefine the photographic algorithms of mobile, especially in night mode, in order to make poetic use of something that is so objectively mathematical. A qualitative methodology is followed based on poetics and on factors of creativity. Prospective analysis is conducted using the Delphi method to attempt to glimpse the significance—or non-significance—of these changes, their projection, their possible developments and their creative implications. The theoretical framework investigates computational imaging supported by artificial intelligence and its interaction with other arts. Photographic experimentation is done in Toledo after dark, with inspiration drawn from the verses, prose and images of the writers and artists who have marked Toledo through its history. The conclusions point to the importance of continuously redefining the technological elements for their fruitful use in creation and in dialog with the arts. The computational image, so automatic and apparently simple, can produce the illusion that a techno-poetic training is not needed. Photographic algorithms and artificial intelligence are powerful tools that must be known so that they can be used and subverted. Their ease of use must not cloud the importance of training in other arts and the necessary creative innovation to critically make use of technological developments.
