Abstract

As the 21st century is coming, the aesthetics resorting to intuitive visual experience has gradually replaced the cultural communication using text as a medium, which has taken dominant position and become the main means of transmitting information, both in terms of entertainment, as well as cultural dissemination and exchange, as well as reflection of society, whether current or historical. Supported by a growing and efficient technology, the cinema has evolved remarkably in the last decades until it has assumed a fundamental role in mass communication. Among the innumerable topics addressed in the films, the migration is included. This type of creation takes root in the beginning of film production, which is perhaps encouraged by it to some extent. The films that reflect the vicissitudes of the immigrants are not only intended to present a special perspective, but also play an important role in spreading the information related to immigrants. Although there are endless existential difficulties in the immigrants’ life, they also promote the integration with an environment full of opportunities. The cross-cultural content can be seen between two highly differentiated worlds, namely the country of origin and the host country, thus improving the understanding and empathy. Among many cinematographic creations in the field of migration, those works directed by directors of Chinese origin are mainly taken as research objects, which show the life of Chinese immigrants in the United States...
