El Ministerio de Awqāf, al-Azhar y la reconfiguración de la política religiosa en el Egipto post-Mubarak

Resumen

Desde el inicio de su mandato, una de las prioridades del presidente Abdel Fattah El Sisi fue la reconfiguración de las relaciones del poder religioso en Egipto, un pilar sobre el que se asienta la legitimidad del régimen. No obstante, sus intentos de restar poder a la institución de al-Azhar por medio del ministerio de Awqāf o Asuntos Religiosos se enfrentaron a la tenaz resistencia de al-Azhar, en un escenario de tensión larvada entre los diversos actores religiosos del estado. En el presente artículo se exponen las líneas maestras que, en el escenario post-Mubarak, configuran la relación entre el estamento religioso de al-Azhar y el estado egipcio con sus diferentes instituciones político-religiosas, analizando en qué medida estas influyen en los sucesos y avatares de la política egipcia contemporánea.
