Abstract
Oiabetic patients are a high risk group for oral diseases, particullary when non adequate control for the metabolic disease is present. The purpose in the present study was to analyze the association between blood glucose leve/, as an indicator of disease metabolic control, and caries and periodontal status. 42 diabetic patients were included. Blood glucose leve/, oral status, salivary flow rate, Alban test and buffer capacity were noted. A statistical/y significant association was found between the glucose leve/ and age, salivary flow rate (non-stimulated), Alban test and OMFT index. B/ood glucose leve/ is asociated with the individua/ caries history, and with sorne accepted caries risk factors.
