Abstract
This communication is centred in the theoretical base which is the foundation of the creative process that has produced the photographic series El Nuevo Madrid (The New Madrid), of which I am the author. To do so, it will explain the concepts and references I used. It will include also, in the appendix, twelve of the pictures from the series. El Nuevo Madrid depicts the transformations that have happened in the new neighbours of Madrid. Traditionally ignored because of their ambiguity and its absence of esthetical attractive, those spaces are in this latest decades one of the most represented from the artists community, inside the different ones that compose the urban landscapes. This has been called �the attraction of periphery�. Designed to be an exploration of the characteristics and possibilities of Documentary Photography, when applied to man altered landscapes, this series also shows this tension between the documentary and the subjective.
