Résumé

Entrepreneurship has gained a vital relevance in last years, considering itself as a fundamental element for economic and innovative development of any country, especially necessary given the current economic crisis. In this line, business creation could be a determining factor to economic growth and improvement of the country competitiveness. Focusing specifically in the case of Brazil, as it is indicated in the last report of Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (Andreassi T. et al, 2014), entrepreneurship has become increasingly accepted and there is a broader dissemination of entrepreneurial activity in the country, by creating suitable conditions for the development of these initiatives (Lima E. et al, 2014). Spinoff is one type of entrepreneurship that emerged from the universities, whose number had significantly increased over the last years. This kind of entrepreneurial activities can be defined as a type of technology-based company (EBT) created from the knowledge and/or technologies developed within the framework of university and that act as a link between academia and business (Churches P. et al, 2012). In the Brazilian context, in recent years, many initiatives supporting business entrepreneurship has been developed, specifically with regard to spin-off, although a deeper analysis to analyze the possible effects given the uncertain political and economic situation must be carried. The aim of this work is to know what the current situation of these businesses is, as well as the support by the university to treat the entrepreneurship phenomenon, besides of training and initiatives analysis for stimulating these innovations.
