Características sociodemográficas de gais y lesbianas víctimas de abuso psicológico en pareja en España e Hispanoamérica

Resumen

El abuso psicológico en parejas del mismo sexo ha sido escasamente estudiado en España e Hispanoamérica, a pesar de su relevancia social y para la salud pública. El presente artículo tiene como objetivo examinar la prevalencia del abuso psicológico en parejas del mismo sexo en España e Hispanoamérica y analizar las características sociodemográficas asociadas. Se realizó un cuestionario on-line contestado por 663 personas lesbianas y gais españoles/as e hispano-americanos/as. El 10.6% del total de la muestra se percibe como víctima de abuso psicológico por parte de su pareja (9.6% en gais y 10.7% en lesbianas). Al comparar las variables sociodemográficas de gais víctimas y no víctimas se encontraron diferencias según edad, ocupación y consumo de alcohol diario. En el caso de las lesbianas, se encontraron diferencias significativas entre víctimas y no víctimas en las variables país y ocupación. Al comparar entre lesbianas y gais víctimas, se obtuvieron diferencias significativas para ocupación y consumo de alcohol. Este estudio contribuye a conocer mejor y visibilizar este fenómeno, y muestra la necesidad de profundizar en la investigación.
