Résumé

Public administrations responsible for planning in the southern section of the Manzanares River have the will to recover it environmentally. For this purpose they have developed sustainability strategies, linking their regeneration to concepts such as green infrastructures, or carbon sink. These initiatives are proposed for a very degraded area, which has known neighborhood and environmental demands for its recovery and use for a long time. Reaching its recovery as a green endowment and space of environmental quality is not easy. The review of various plans and proposals, with the support of cartography to contrast the projects, concludes with a critical analysis, which shows the historical neglectof planning in this area of the city of Madrid and the discrepancy between discourses and reality
