Resumen

Genetic parameters for average daily gain (ADG), unspecific mortality (U-MO), enteropathy (EN), respiratory symptoms (RS) and poor body condition (ME) and in Caldes line rabbits during the fattening period were estimated using Bayesian Trivariate LinearThreshold Animal Models. 4024 and 3840 animals were reared under ad libitum (AD) and restricted feeding (RF) regimes. The kits of the same litter were distributed into both treatments ensuring that animals in a cage had a similar initial weight. For each disease, records obtained under different feed regimes were treated as different traits. The model for ADG included the effects of year-season, parity order, number born alive, additive genetic and litter. For every disease the model included parity order, number born alive, batch, size of the animal at weaning, additive genetic, litter and cage group effects. The heritabilities on the liability scale were converted to the observed scale. Estimates were found to be between 0,03 and 0,10, and for all the diseases they were equal under both treatments. The genetic correlations between feeding regimens were far from 1, suggesting the existence of genotype by feeding regimen interaction. The genetic correlations between VC and all of the diseases under both feeding regimens were moderate and negative.
