Resumen

El objetivo de este artículo es analizar los cambios que experimenta la ciudad sagrada de Díon, en Macedonia, al ser conquistado el territorio por Roma. La investigación se centra concretamente en el santuario de Zeus Olímpico, donde se puede constatar la realización de una serie de alteraciones que motivaron el paulatino abandono del mismo. Esto estaría enmarcado en un proceso de consolidación del poder romano en el lugar, que finalizaría con la fundación de un nuevo espacio religioso, consagrado a Zeus Hipsisto.
