Abstract

The aim of this work is to express from the conceptual conditions the importance that the addictions in psychopathology will have in the XXI century, mainly those called social addictions and, particularly, alimentary addictions. Specifically in the descriptive analysis of the psychopathological characteristics that distinguish the addictive behaviour, and in the functional considerations, we establish the personal and social-environmental conditions of vulnerability and risk for alimentary addictions. In the psychobiological substrate, both the role of the dopamine of the accumbens nucleus in the reinforcing mechanisms, as well as the enkephalins release and the hedonistic mechanisms are of utmost importance to finally feedback the prefrontal cortex and restore an addictive behaviour.
