This article contextualizes the role of the so-called emotional post-truth in the construction of fake news during the covid-19 pandemic in Spain and analyzes the role of digital journalism facing disinformation, its ability to combat and detect fake news early, with the objective of demonstrating the deontological value during the states of emergency in Spain. Based on the analysis of the current regulatory framework against disinformation, a comparative study was carried out on the online performance of two traditionalmedia: El País and RTVE.es and two digital native media (Maldita.esand elDiario.es) during two of the most critical milestones of the covid-19 pandemic, in order to determine their procedure when facing fake news.
