Abstract

This article shows the impact of Covid19 on the media system, especially on television, which, during the first year of the pandemic, has monopolized most of its news coverage on this subject, not only in its news programs but also in various entertainment programs. Our study is based on an exploratory descriptive-interpretative analysis with two main objectives: to analyze, through a comparative tracking method, the changes produced in the programming of the main free-to-air generalist television channels in our country; and, additionally, to evaluate ex post facto this particular approach on the effects produced in its audience to analyze its consequences, and to offer conclusions according to the results obtained.
