Resum

Cicindelidae and Carabidae are families of Coleoptera with great diversity (more than 45,000 taxa are known). Many studies of varied nature have been carried out on these families, in part thanks to the availability of catalogues indicating the distribution of taxa and the possibility of obtaining particular samples. This work updates that of 1987 referred to Murcia thanks to the incorporation of hundreds of new records: from 217 species we now know 372, and sampled localities have risen from 168 to almost 700. Thus, this updated version is a good support to develop species keys, characterize the predominating regional biotopes, allow to star deeper ecological analyses, etc. Most of this huge effort has been done by the personnel of research group Phylogeny and Evolution of the university of Murcia. Xerophilic species with a Mediterranean geographic pattern predominate in the Region, although communities proper of continental areas of Iberia are found in the northwest. Most typical biotopes harbour particular communities and assemblages, what allows to use the data for conservation and bioindicator studies, and to investigate future faunal changes due to the so rapidly changing environment.
