Abstract

The acquisition of new skills and abilities in the current context of ecological and technological transition requires education and training systems that guarantee, on the one hand, specialized technical skills for the new jobs that will replace those that will become obsolete due to to automation and digitization and, on the other, personal and social skills, linked to critical thinking, teamwork, solving unpredictable problems and analytical skills. It is urgent to invest in our education and training systems, to modernize their operation and to do so within the framework of a global, connected and sustainable world that is in full transformation. Lifelong learning/lifelong learning systems are required to make it possible to acquire and keep up-to-date the necessary skills to achieve sustainable employability and active citizenship
