Abstract

The aim of this paper is to make an approximation to the verb-noun collocations in Latin that express passive diathesis. In particular, we will take as an example the collocation “iniuriam accipere”, to analyze its similarities and differences with the morphological passive, in order to show that both are different procedures for the expression of the same diathetic content. For the data, we rely on a wide corpus from Caesar to “Historia Augusta”.
