Las cualidades del maestro según la pedagogía agustiniana en confessiones, de cathechizandis rudibus, de magistro y de doctrina christiana

Resumen

En esta Tesis Doctoral se analiza las cualidades del maestro, según varias obras de San Agustín (354-430), Obispo de Hipona. Las enseñanzas de San Agustín, el perfil de maestro que traza, así como su propio testimonio pueden arrojar luz sobre la situación educativa actual inmersa en un proceso de cierta sumisión a los preceptos del relativismo, el hedonismo y el nihilismo descrita por numerosos intelectuales y teóricos de la educación, ya que el contexto histórico de la época de San Agustín guarda cierta similitud al nuestro y observa carencias educativas a las que pretende dar respuesta justamente centrándose, entre otros aspectos, en la formación del maestro. La tesis desgrana las cualidades que San Agustín asigna al maestro en su concepción pedagógica, básicamente a partir de sus obras relacionadas con la educación y la predicación como Confessiones, De catechizandis rudibus, De Magistro y De Doctrina Christiana. Estas cualidades conforman una unidad y se implican mutuamente. Son ser un modelo, su alegría, su caridad -de la que se deriva su esperanza, su fe y confianza-, su paciencia, su diálogo, el cultivo de su vida interior, la ayuda de la Gracia, su humildad y su elocuencia. Ante el panorama del pensamiento actual que compromete seriamente la educación de nuestro tiempo, ya que cuestiona la necesidad de ser guiado y orientado hacia una verdad y que tiene como consecuencia la progresiva deshumanización del ser humano, la pedagogía agustiniana y, más específicamente, su perfil del maestro nos parece una sugestiva luz para discernir el contexto educativo de nuestra época. In this thesis we analyze the qualities of the teacher, as several works of St. Augustine (354-430), Bishop of Hippo. The teachings of St. Augustine, the master profile mapping, as well as his own testimony may shed light on the current educational situation undergoing a process of true submission to the precepts of relativism, hedonism and nihilism described by many intellectuals and theorists of education, as the historical context of the time of St. Augustine bears some similarity to ours and watch educational disadvantage which aims to answer just focusing on teacher training. The thesis crumbles the qualities that Saint Augustine gives the teacher in his pedagogical concept from their works related to education and preaching as Confessions, De catechizandis rudibus, De Magistro and De Doctrina Christiana. These qualities make up a unit and they are mutually involved . They are being a model, his joyfulness, his charity which it derives his hope and faith, his patience, his dialogue, his interiority, the help of grace, his humility and his eloquence. Against the background of current thinking seriously compromises the education of our time, because it questions the need to be guided and oriented towards truth and that results in the progressive dehumanization of man, the Augustinian pedagogy and, more specifically, its profile the teacher seems a suggestive light to discern the educational context of our time.
