Education is one of the more controversial issues that has been discussed in the Spanish public sphere over the last years. In this paper, we present the results of an investigation that focuses on the construction procedures of that controversy and the narrative that sustains it, as well as on the relationship between them, as it was put forward by two Spanish newspapers. Our analysis reveals how media are a space and an actor of the controversy and how it modalizes its participation through diverse discursive procedures.
