Resum

The main object of this present Doctoral Thesis responds to the following title: ‘The construction of narratives in the Basque cinema financed by the Basque Government (2011-2016): industry, identity, nation and transnationality after the end of the terrorist organization ETA’. A chronological delimitation marked by the end of ETA’s activity — announced on 20 October 2011 — gives the chance to face a historical moment such as the one indicated. At the same time, a closer political and sociological debate relating the ‘battle for the narrative’ can be done. The Main Hypothesis of this present research demonstrates that the Basque cinema financed by the Basque Government in the subsequent years after the end of ETA (2011-2016) does not propose a homogenous ideological line when dealing with the so-called ‘Basque conflict’.
