Abstract

Multiple sclerosis and spastic paraparesis are progressive and inflammatory neurological diseases that present with frequent symptoms including stiffness, pain and dystonias cramps and spasticity. The main objectives of this study were to analyze the spasticity of the patients, evaluate the symptoms associated with spasticity and analyze the activities of daily living performed. This study retrospectively evaluates 5 patients, comparing the symptoms reported before treatment and those obtained after treatment with tetrahydrocannabinol/cannabidiol. (THC) Variables such as pain, cramps, spasticity, urinary problems, activities of daily living and quality of life were analyzed. A total of 5 patients were included in the study. The variables of these were analyzed before starting the treatment and one year after being with it.Statistically significant results were found, between having spasms during the day (p = 0.010), having spasms during the night (p = 0.010), number of spasms you have during the day (p = 0.010), number of spasms you have during the night (p = 0.038), if you are pained by spasms (p = 0.010), if you wake up at night the spasms (p = 0.038), difficulty sleeping (p = 0.010), gets up to the bathroom during the night (p = 0.049), how many you see gets up (p = 0.038), presents pain associated with spasticity (p = 0.049) and VAS (p = 0.025). We conclude that spasticity and symptoms such as pain and cramps of patients, improve significantly with the administration of the drug THC
