Résumé

The main objective of this thesis is to provide proposals in the direction of the development of training materials for the interpretation of healthcare with the ChineseSpanish specialty, which is characterised by a considerable shortage at present and at the same time its availability can resolve the imbalance between the need and the training offer up to a certain point. For that, it is first sought to identify the competence required to carry out a qualified interpretation through a reading of contributions made from a cognitive, pedagogical, intercultural communication, language for a specific purpose, as well as translation and interpretation as a discipline perspective. Based on it, an applicable model is developed for the Chinese-Spanish healthcare interpretation in particular, in which the competence is broken down into six sub-competencies. With this model as a reference, a detailed review of the official training offers in Spain and China is realised in order to verify whether there is an empty area between the required sub-competencies and those sub-competencies that were focused on by these programs. Likewise, it is ascertained whether the materials available in the market cover this gap with a systematic analysis. Given that the answer is negative, a series of contributions is proposed on the sub-competencies that must be more attended when designing new materials aimed at the training of Chinese-Spanish healthcare interpretation, and a pilot unit as a sample of what is sought.
