Abstract

This paper theoretically explains the application ofTriple Helix model for managing innovation in thecity of Alcala de Henares (Madrid). This model is basedon relationships between government, university andindustry, where the government acts as facilitator, theindustry as plaintiff of innovative products and the University as a manager and developer of the innovation.Since 1977 the city of Alcala de Henares has a university that has been increasingly highlighted in nationaland international level. In 2003 the University wascreated the Science and Technology Park, Tecnoalcalá,home to innovative companies. Therefore in 2010 it has created the Spanish LanguagePlatform. The aim of this cluster is to develop companies and institutions to turn to the Comunidad de Madrid and Spain a world leader in the sector of the Spanish language as well as the development of a strongeconomy and a profitable industry. It is intended thatthis industry serves as an enhancer the others sectors, existing within the technological framework of innovation management of Madrid. We propose an approach on the roles played by government, university and industry. Especially we wantto explain about the opportunities and challenges forthe enterprise, in Communication, Digital Documentation and digital contents creation through the development of the Spanish Language Platform.
