Résumé

Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is an autoinflammatory disease that affects both the gut and other systems. There is growing evidence that others autoinflammatory diseases rise patient’s cardiovascular risk (CVR). There is no shown relationship between IBD and CVR. This work’s objective is to evaluate cardiovascular risks factors (CVRF) among patients with IBD in Plasencia health area. Methods: 148 patients with IBD were included and we collected data of their illness, blood tests and RCV. Quality of life test were made (CCVEII‐9 and WHOQOL‐BREF). Results: there were 39.2% of patient with Crohn’s disease and 60.8% with ulcerative colitis. 54.4% had high body mass index and 79.7% had at least one CVRF (some of them, previously undiagnosed). Active illness worsens quality of life, as well as suffer any CVRF. Discussion and conclusion: analysed population with IBD is similarly to the data reported previously, but they had more CVRF. This CVRF incidence matches the results reported in Extramadura and Spain, as well as the low incidence of mayor cardiovascular events. Most of the patients had their illness controlled. IBD impacts negatively in quality of life, and it gets even worse when we add any CVRF. Women get lower results in quality of life.
