Abstract

This talk addresses the development and results of the UniLingua project, that is a virtual languageexchange programme which was carried out between ten universities and university language centresduring the 2020/2021, 2021/2022 and 2022/2023 academic years. The main objective of the UniLinguaprogramme is connecting students from different universities who want to practice a foreign languagethrough virtual meetings. Therefore, UniLingua groups students in pairs, where each pair is made upof students belonging to a different institution. In this talk, we present the most relevant outcomes ofthe 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 editions of UniLingua, by taking into account quantitative and qualitativedata regarding several issues, such as the context, the participation of students and universities, thestructure and the quality of the meetings, students’ degree of satisfaction and the improvement of theirlanguage proficiency in the framework of the language exchanges carried out.
