The rehabilitation of atrophic jaws with implant- supported prostheses has become a common practice in the last three decades. Usually, it is a treatment that presents with low incidence of complications. However, if any of these complications raises a more serious risk during treatment, they may become a contraindication for bone regeneration in the posterior regions of the jaws. One of these complications is the migration of the dental implant into the maxillary sinus cavity. Dental implants, such as any other foreign body into the maxillary sinus, should be removed in order to prevent sinusitis. Oftenly sinusitis is associated with prevention of performance of maxillary sinus lift procedure. Presented is a clinical case of an implant displaced into the maxillary sinus cavity, which was removed. Afterwards a sinus lift procedure was performed, followed by rehabilitation of with implant-supported prostheses.
