Abstract

This doctoral thesis analyses the guarantee of the right to religious equality and non-discrimination provided by the European Convention on Human Rights before the collective phenomenon of religious freedom through its interpretation by the European Court of Human Rights.More specifically, it focuses on the applicability of the essential content of religious equality and non-discrimination, as established by the Court's case law, on three specific areas of legal analysis: the recognition of legal personality of religious groups, the signing of cooperation agreements with religious denominations and access to direct and indirect funding of religious groups.
