Abstract
A complete characterization of aviation emissions is necessary, since it is essential to act on them, to minimize their impact on health and the environment. National and international organizations must have a sufficiently broad database on which to base future regulations on commercial aviation emissions. To this end, several national and international research Programs and projects have been carried out in order to expand knowledge about the aerosol (gas and PM (Particulate Matter)) emitted by aircraft. Despite all these attempts, although the measurement procedures are quite defined, it has not yet been possible to establish an adequate methodology to carry out the sampling and comprehensive measurement of the aerosol, in any of the three scenarios of interest: airplanes in flight, airports and engine test cell...
