Mujeres y hombres del futuro:Representaciones de la humanidad en el cine futurista del s. XX : un estudio del vestuario

Abstract

The study begins with an exhaustive survey of the previous works devoted to the subject, from the first publications on major Hollywood designers and stars, to contemporary costume theory (whether oriented in semiotics, feminist film studies, or cultural studies). The scarcity of previous works and a more complete bibliography dedicated to costume in cinema has been, on one hand, an important difficulty, but on the other, it has enabled the achievement of a work which aims to serve as a reference for subsequent works. It hopes to offer an efficient means toward understanding the state of the field, and likewise, to further develop it as an object of study.
