Abstract

The eighties and early nineties epidemic regarding heroin use led to an increase in youth mortality and a social alarm that precipitated different events. The problematic was aggravated due to the increasing health care demand that could not be covered with the available resources or number of available qualified health professionals at the time (Brugal et al. 2006). This project aims to record the creation of the Complutense Institute of Drug Addiction in response to the need for training for nursing, psychology and medicine professionals (Mayor, 1991). SYNTHESIS: The thesis is divided into two parts. The first phase shows the creation of the Complutense Institute of Drug Addiction, its theoretical base, and the training proposal for the professionals (PNSD, 1985). In the second phase, through an expert’s panel of the professionals involved in the training, a discussion group is formed and their opinions are highlighted (Ibáñez,1992). OBJECTIVES: In the first phase, the objective is to reflect the training given in drug addictionhealth professionals from 1988 to 2020 at the Complutense Institute of Drug Addiction. In the secondphase, the objective is to reveal the perceptions of the experts who have witnessed the training for atthe Complutense Institute of Drug Addiction of nursing, psychology and medicine.MATERIAL AND METHOD: In the first phase, the study carried out is qualitative descriptive retrospective, by means of the documentary analysis of the archives of the Complutense Institute of drug addiction, carried out in two stays carried out in said center (Tancara, 1993). The research of the second phase is a qualitative study through Grounded Theory in which it is carried out with focus groups to describe the perceptions of the experts and professionals in nursing, psychology and medicine who have practiced and have witnessed the training given at the Institute Complutense of Drug Addiction.
