Abstract

This Thesis pursues a triple objective: to carry out a study on the conception of love in Ibn Arabi, to elaborate a study on the conception of love in María Zambrano and to show the similarity of their respective discourses on love and their proposals for human fulfillment.In the case of Ibn Arabi, we deal in the first place with the importance of love in his life and work. To this end, we review the essential milestones of his biography and present the main lines of his metaphysics, ontology, epistemology, hermeneutics, ethics and soteriology. Secondly, we analyze chapter 178 of his masterpiece, al-Futuhat al-Makkiyya, an essential text within the akbarian amorous discourse which, until now, has not received sufficient attention from specialized critics.
