Resumo

Since 2010, the Andrés Bello Central Archive of the University of Chile drew up a work plan focused on the enhancement of collections, inventory, dissemination and access, through publications and online content. Thus, in its 24 years of existence, it has allowed many outstanding Funds and Collections of books, printed documents and manuscripts, press, photographs and other heritage objects of great material, intellectual and historical value, to be restored, conserved and disseminated. Today it has 18 collections of diverse materials that are testimony to the history of Chile, among them the Photographic Archive Collection that currently owns the Guillermo Guerra Sub-Collection, whose content made up of photographs and press clippings from the 19th century is the subject of analysis of the present work. The Photographic Archive Collection houses only photographs and in the last two years it has been able to establish itself as one of the most important collections of ACAB, achieving an exponential growth in terms of quantity of material, as well as the value they represent. Itcurrently has 8 sub-collections: Antonio Quintana Contreras, Roberto Montandon Paillard, Gertrudis de Mosses, Institutional, 20th Century, Chile, Arts and Thesis. To these collections should be added a part of the Guillermo Guerra Collection, made up entirely of images from the 19th and early 20th centuries, as well as press clippings from this period.
