Resumen

Cneorum tricoccon L. is a relict plant with the only remnant population of Menorca located in sa Mesquida. C. tricoccon main seed disperser, Podarcis lilfordi, was defaunated to extinction due to introduced carnivores. This study aims to understand the current genetic diversity of the population and its conse-quences for long term persistence. All genetic diversity metrics studied indica-te the population is genetically depaupe-rated with a scarce evolutionary poten-tial. This together with its demographic stagnation, reduced population size and spatial aggregated structure may com-promise the population long term persis-tence.
