Knowing about science through cinema is a trend that, since the 1980s, has been increasingly interested in academic environments mainly due to the alternation of alphabetic culture with audiovisual culture. Although all human activity is largely mediated by economic implications, it is not easy to elucidate which films are relevant for the knowledge of economics in the classroom. Three preceding classifications are reviewed. The advantages and disadvantages of applying this methodology as a complement to the lectures are considered. A reasonable taxonomy is proposed in five sections with a brief assessment of the films considered most relevant. This study analyzes previous contributions, evaluates films recommended by critics, and proposes a selection of titles that brings together artistic quality and a predominance of economic theory.
