Abstract

Lower/Middle Jurassic transition foraminiferal assemblages from the Central Sector of the Aragonese Branch of the Iberian Range are described and figured for the first time. 9674 specimens have been recovered and 57 species have been identified in the 25 samples processed. Although the suborders Textulariina, Miliolina, Spirillinina, Rotaliina and Robertinina are present, Lagenina is the dominant taxonomic group either in number of species and specimens. A marked homogeneity characterizes the assemblage succession. From the Upper Toarcian to the Bajocian, Lower Jurassic species are slowly and progressively replaced by Middle Jurassic ones.
