Zusammenfassung

In September 2021, the Complutense University of Madrid received the donation ofpart of the legacy of the veterinarian Tiburcio Alarcón y Sánchez Muñoz (1859-1946).This legacy consisted of twelve documents, specifically eight bundles, three envelopesand a bound book. In total thousands of pages and documents collected approximatelybetween 1880 and 1940. It includes, from notes he took in the different subjects heattended in his student years, to important research work, such as the one that allowedhim to win the position of professor of General and Special Pathology, Pharmacology,Art of Prescribing, Therapeutics, Legal Medicine and Medical Clinic at the VeterinarySchool of Madrid in 1902. There is also documentation on various subjects such aszootechnics, agriculture and livestock or hygiene and preventive medicine. All this allows us to understand the multidisciplinary profile of Professor Alarcón in terms ofknowledge and professional practice. In the personal sphere, there is a varied typeof documents that include diverse correspondence, press or notes that the professorstored over the years and that provide new data on more unknown aspects of his biography. In this paper we present the analysis and classification of the documentation,offering this set of sources to those interested in the History of Veterinary Medicine
