Résumé

Considering Connells’ concept of cathexis and the framework of critical theory and discourse analysis this paper sought to describe the political implications of the sentimental discourses proposed by Autodefensa (Barenys, Blanca, Prieto, 2022) especially in connection with the consideration of feminism as a collective project. The study examines the relationship between the genre of the female choral fiction, used in the Spanish context to articulate postfeminist views, and the affective politics of social and economic precarity. Sadness, cruel optimism, self-depreciation, post-feminism rage and heteropessimism, that can be seen as symptoms of the growing distance between Spanish young women’s private and daily life and feminism as a public discourse.
