Résumé

The use of live insects in the classroom is a resource that, despite having great educational benefits in the teaching-learning process, is relatively little explored in Spanish school classrooms. This paper presents a didactic sequence, framed in the curriculum of the fourth year of Primary Education, which revolves around the theme of butterflies. In addition to the main activities, focused on the use of live butterflies, complementary activities are offered such as an interactive story, a timeline of the butterfly cycle and the installation of a butterfly garden. All these activities show how, thanks to the use of an educational resource available to everyone, a more transversal approach can be given to teaching practice.
