Abstract

The main objective of this research is to typify the social innovation based on its different manifestations classified in the physical, social and economic subsystems of the intelligent territories model. For the development of this thesis, the social innovation concept refers to the self-organization of communities to support their needs, which transforms their social relations and increases their socio-political capacities. The biggest contribution of this work is the construction of a model that allows us to assess the characteristics of social innovation and, therefore, to verify whether it responds to the problems posed by the neoliberal city.
