Abstract
This study focuses on the main elements that determine the well-being of West African men settled in three municipalities in rural Catalan counties. It considers the theories of subjective and psychological well-being and a framework of analysis that highlights the positive contribution of immigration to the development of rural territories and places the well-being of their inhabitants as the ultimate goal. Based on semi-structured interviews, it describes the perception of Africans and native people in order to understand how the conditions that determine well-being and the role of immigration in the environments studied are constructed
