Resumen

Existe un problema social y cultural relacionado con el suicidio en las sociedades avanzadas. Desde el punto de vista profesional, los Trabajadores Sociales intervienen para conseguir el bienestar social y la salud de las personas con las que trabajan sin estar exentos de sufrir ellos mismos ideación suicida. La presente investigación pretende analizar la ideación suicida en estudiantes universitarios de Trabajo Social. A través de una metodología cuantitativa, se analiza este fenómeno en una amplia muestra de estudiantes pertenecientes a universidades españolas (n=1005). En el estudio estadístico se desarrolla un análisis de frecuencias, un análisis de tablas cruzadas y una regresión logística binaria, tomando como referencia la variable dependiente: el riesgo de ideación suicida. Las variables predictoras del riesgo suicida son: el sexo, el tipo de relaciones sociales, el acoso escolar en etapas anteriores, el consumo de medicación antidepresiva, el aumento de la ansiedad tras el COVID-19 y las dificultades económicas para continuar los estudios. Las universidades no deben ser ajenas a los problemas de sus estudiantes, sino que deben incorporar programas específicos para el tratamiento y prevención del riesgo suicida, promoviendo una educación de calidad sobre los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible de la ONU.
