Abstract
American author Flannery O’Connor is specially recognized for her short stories and novels, as for her Catholic religiosity in a mostly Protestant environment. The aim of this paper is to analyse how O’Connor applies and explores her idea of God in her essays and letters, and how this same idea is used to deliver narratological concepts to other authors. Thus, O’Connor spread both religion and literature. To do that, an analysis of several examples will be offered. Finally, in a symbiotic exercise between criticism and literary production, an evaluation of how that divine presence is constructed will also be offered. I will also try to focus on how a contemporary perspective can be applied to that
